Prepare this refreshing and colorful winter fruit salad featuring seasonal citrus, apples, and pomegranate. It uses a simple honey-lime dressing and is ready quickly, making it a healthy side dish or light dessert for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large navel oranges, peeled and segmented
  • 2 clementines, peeled and separated
  • 2 crisp apples (like Honeycrisp or Fuji), cored and chopped
  • 1 firm pear, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup pomegranate arils
  • 1 cup green grapes, halved
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • For the Dressing:
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the fruit: Peel and segment the oranges, separate the clementines, chop the apples and pear, and halve the grapes. Place all prepared fruit and the pomegranate arils into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Make the dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the fresh lime juice, honey, lime zest, and ground cinnamon until the honey is fully dissolved.
  3. Dress the salad: Pour the honey-lime dressing evenly over the fruit mixture. Gently toss the fruit until everything is lightly coated.
  4. Chill: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the winter fruit salad for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Serve: Present the colorful fruit salad immediately as a healthy winter side dish or light dessert.

Notes

  • For extra brightness, you can add 1/2 cup of sliced kiwi to this easy winter fruit salad.
  • If you are making this ahead for a holiday potluck, keep the dressing separate and toss the salad just before serving to keep the apples and pears crisp.
  • This recipe is naturally gluten free and vegetarian.
