Make the best homemade Lemon Drop Martini. This recipe balances sweet and tart flavors for a refreshing vodka cocktail perfect for happy hour or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Fresh lemon juice
  • 0.75 oz Triple Sec
  • 0.75 oz Simple syrup
  • Lemon slices for garnish
  • Granulated sugar for rim

Instructions

  1. Prepare the glass: Rub the rim of a chilled martini glass with a lemon wedge. Roll the outer edge of the rim in granulated sugar. Set the glass aside.
  2. Combine ingredients: Add the vodka, fresh lemon juice, Triple Sec, and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake well: Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is very cold, about 15 to 20 seconds.
  4. Strain: Double strain the mixture into the prepared, sugar-rimmed martini glass.
  5. Garnish: Garnish with a thin lemon slice or a lemon twist. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To balance the sweet and tart flavor, adjust the simple syrup amount based on the tartness of your fresh lemon juice. Start with less syrup and add more if needed before shaking.
  • For a quick sugared rim, use lemon zest mixed with the sugar for extra aroma.
  • If you prefer a Lemon Drop Shot, reduce the liquid volume slightly and serve in a shot glass.
