- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional, for topping)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (if using breadcrumbs)
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt and pepper. Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
- Pour the creamy garlic parmesan sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.
- If using breadcrumbs, mix the breadcrumbs with the melted butter and sprinkle over the top of the sauce on each chicken breast.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit and the sauce is bubbly.
- Let the cheesy garlic parmesan chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a low carb chicken bake, skip the breadcrumbs.
- You can add 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top during the last 5 minutes of baking for extra cheesiness.
- This oven baked chicken recipe works well with chicken thighs as well; adjust cooking time as needed.
