  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce (or marinara)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Optional toppings: Pepperoni slices, cooked sausage, sliced mushrooms, bell peppers

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). If using an air fryer, set it to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the muffins for crispiness: Brush the cut side of each English muffin half lightly with olive oil or melted butter.
  3. Toast the muffins: Place the muffin halves cut-side up on a baking sheet. Bake for 4 minutes, or until slightly golden. This step prevents a soggy crust.
  4. Apply sauce and seasoning: Remove the muffins from the oven. Spread about 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce evenly over the toasted surface of each half. Sprinkle lightly with oregano and garlic powder.
  5. Add cheese and toppings: Distribute the mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add your desired toppings, such as pepperoni slices, over the cheese.
  6. Finish cooking: Return the muffin pizzas to the oven and bake for 5 to 8 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly. If using an air fryer, cook for 4 to 6 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately for a fast lunch idea or easy dinner.

  • For an Air Fryer Pizza hack: Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 4-6 minutes, checking halfway through.
  • To make a Breakfast Pizza variation: Skip the pizza sauce. Instead, top the pre-toasted muffins with a thin layer of cooked, crumbled sausage or bacon, a fried egg (or scrambled egg mixture), and top with cheddar or mozzarella cheese.
  • For extra crispiness, finish under the broiler for 1 minute, watching closely to prevent burning.
